StoryMakers: Indigenous America 250 Summer Internship

Imagine yourself in Philadelphia. Sitting in a library poring through archival collections, opening boxes, reading letters and speeches, looking at maps and sketches. You are unearthing Indigenous histories, helping to bring the past to light.

Apply to join StoryMakers: Indigenous America 250 Summer Internship this summer for an unforgettable research experience. With multiple research centers and archives that steward collections related to Indigenous history, the city of Philadelphia is an ideal place to learn. This six-week paid internship for young and emerging professionals includes a stipend, travel, and accommodations at a college campus. We encourage people 18-30 (up to 35 if veteran status) to apply. Interns will spend four weeks in residence in Philadelphia and two weeks collaborating remotely.

This exciting, capacity-building research internship will provide training for future scholars and professionals, bolstering representation of Indigenous people working in archives and special collections, and supporting the research goals of the larger Indigenous America 250 initiative.

StoryMakers: Indigenous America 250 Summer Internship is supported with funding assistance from the National Park Service, Interior Region 1. The StoryMakers Internship is an extension of the Indigenous America 250 project that revisits the experiences of tribal nations during and beyond the Revolutionary War period. This community-engaged and collaborative effort draws on best practices from Native American and Indigenous Studies (NAIS) to expand understanding of the experiences and perspectives of tribal nations on their own terms.
